In The Weeds: Feb. 2012

This 95-acre Pheasants Forever “Reload Nebraska”-funded project in central Nebraska is full of pheasants, quail, prairie chickens and a whole host of non-game wildlife species such as songbirds, pollinators and regal fritillary butterflies. With proper management and incentives, Pheasants Forever is benefitting a wide array of important wildlife species on its projects. This prairie is managed with prescribed fire and managed grazing. The Reload Nebraska plan is building new and innovative partnerships that are moving us toward our goal of establishing and improving 1.1 million acres of quality wildlife habitat in the state. If you would like to support Pheasants Forever’s Reload Nebraska effort, contact Pheasants Forever in Nebraska at (308) 754-5339 or visit Pheasants Forever Nebraska online to find how you can make a difference. -Photo by Pete Berthelsen, Pheasants Forever Senior Field Coordinator
